Welcome to Apologetics 101!

In today's increasingly secular society, many are turning from the Christian faith on "intellectual" grounds that it does not meet the needs our society today or that science has invalidated it.  Works such as "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins, "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris, and several others are topping the charts on today's bestseller lists.  The illusion is growing that, not just Christianity, but all religion is rooted firmly in irrational faith and that secularism has come to free us from this madness.  This is simply not the case.

In addition, the problem is exacerbated due to the fact that many of Christianity's teachings are often misunderstood in our world.  This leads to a skewed view of the Church that often leads to its unnecessary rejection.

The purpose of this site is twofold. Firstly, it intends to demonstrate that it is perfectly rational to be a faithful Christian in today's society.  Secondly, it aims to better explain difficult or misunderstood Christian concepts, specifically of the Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and mainline Protestant Churches.

In the spirit of such apologists as C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton, St. Thomas Aquinas, and the dozens of other Christian intellectuals, this site provides basic explanations, essays, and links to sites with further information.  Some of the work is my own, and I will admit that I am no licensed expert on the matter.  I am just an ardent lover of Christian apologetics.  In fact, I am a student at the University of Michigan who studies these things in my spare time and has some background in theology and apologetics.  The teachings, however, are not my own.  I am only saying what the Church already teaches; I'm just the tool, the middle-man, if you will.  There are apologists far wiser than myself that I shall gladly refer you to should I be unable to provide sufficient explanations or arguements.
